SEE what I meant? You put an esoteric spin on something as simple as falling--you own the world.
Masaya palang matuto ng aikido kasama ang mga bata-- no fear, no questions: they just do it. Ako, it took me three (!!!) classes before I tuckered in, rolled and went for it. Siyempre masakit kasi nilabanan ko. Now I’m a fearless pro... of falling. I thought I was going to do kenjutsu, a la “Kill Bill” right away. Aba, e, I’m still getting to know the many muscles of my bod. Ang dami pala!!!
There is nothing as natural as falling. Nature-- that is, gravity-- owns us, rules everything.
I am reading you a lot these last two nights. You are a different person from 3-4 years ago. More so, these last two months, with our Musa in tow. Your sensibilities glow and it is affecting. Well, I’d like to see where your unica hija COULDN'T get you that your granddaughter will. There is indeed a god(dess?), LOL!!! Mwa-ha-haw...
MASAYANG matuto lalo na’t mga bata ang kasama sa mga aralin— uh, “in-form” is the operative phrase in being informed, that is, to be shaped or molded within from what we do without. Kenjutsu, that Nippongo term you plied literally means “art of awareness.” Ken refers to the mind honed to a cutting edge; “jutsu” is art— deadly jujutsu is nothing more than the “art of pliancy of growing bamboo.” There’s something sinfully, deliciously carnal in gaining knowledge that ennobles, enables.
And wielding the body as an instrument of mayhem and passions entail an emptying of the mind of its burdens.
There’s gravity tugging us at 32 feet per squared sec, giving one’s body its quantum of weight… but there’s levity— that storybook character Peter Pan defied gravity, took flight and soared on wings of happy thoughts… there’s even that character in a Thomas M. Disch sci-fi, “On Wings of Song” who took to the skies howling, uh, heavy metal… Gravity bears the body down. Levity allows the mind to take flight to the farthest reaches of space.
Let’s say the brainchild has taken a life of its own and belongs to those who dote on it with the same passions that went into its lovemaking…
Through that brainchild, I’ve touched lots of hearts again—without slamming a knife hand through the rib cage.
Nahahawa yata sila. Mwa-ha-ha-haw!
